Mildred's obituary
Mildred Rogers, born on the 19th of October, 1935, left us on the 21st of September, 2023. A woman characterized by her wit, passion for her favorite pastimes, and commitment to the lessons she imparted, Mildred will be greatly missed.
Mildred is fondly remembered by her family who survive her: her daughter, Sharon Sertuche; Grandson, Dalton Sertuche, daughter-in-law, Lasey Sertuche, Granddaughter Jessica Sertuche, along with Lasey and Daltons children, Payton and Weston Sertuche. These family members keep in their hearts the lessons their matriarch taught them, including the importance of being fiscally responsible and the value of hard work.
Throughout her life, Mildred found joy in several pursuits. She was an avid viewer of shows like Gunsmoke, Walker Texas Ranger, and Price is Right, and cherished movies like Titanic. She also enjoyed visiting local places like Short Stop and JC Pennys, and vacationing in exotic locations such as Tahita and Con Can, Texas.
Mildred's love for art shone through her favored pieces, which included cow print, cheetah print, big clocks, and roster chicken print. Her tasteful home, always kept immaculate, was a testament to one of her heartfelt causes - the importance of a clean house.
Mildred enjoyed gardening and cooking, and her culinary skills shone particularly when she prepared steak, her favorite dish, accompanied by a glass of Coke, her preferred drink.
Mildred's outgoing personality and love of life were best represented by her favorite color, purple, and one of her greatest accomplishments was successfully paying off her house. She retired after a rewarding career, a testament to her hard work and dedication.
Mildred's wit, perseverance, and love for her family will be treasured in their memories. As we remember Mildred, we celebrate a life fully lived and a legacy that will continue to inspire. She will be sorely missed, but her spirit lives on in those who knew and loved her.
