Mike's obituary
On Friday January 6, 2023, Michael Craig Moriarty, loving partner and father of six, passed away at age fifty-two. Mike always had an open mind and loving heart and saw the best in people. Mike earned a bachelor’s degree in broadcast communications and earth sciences and has worked in the field of advertising, digital marketing, and many other occupations.
Mike loved sports and grew up playing hockey, boxing with his brothers and wrestling. Mike was a diehard Wolverine fan and Heather was a die hard Buckeye fan. They were truly a house divided during college football. They discovered this on their first date and still ended up together! He loved listening to music and playing pretend drums on any nearby surface. Heather and Mike spent many nights singing songs together in the living room. While singing was not the kids' style, they would play new music for him and the “Littles” would dance in the kitchen with him. Mike wanted to be involved in all of his kids' passions and took time to watch anime, Korean and Thai dramas, movies of all kinds just to have those moments and memories. Mike loved his work but loved his coworkers even more. He took awhile to find his chosen field but with his diverse background there was always something he could talk about. He was a nerd at heart and loved Star Wars, Harry Potter and Marvel. He loved cooking, baking not so much. Big breakfast was his specialty! He always dreamed of opening a diner so he could feed and make everyone happy.
Mike was best known for his love of his family and taking care of those he loved.
He earned the nickname “Grandma Mike” for a reason. He is survived by his wife Heather, and his children Jaelynn, Sabrina, Lennon, Molly, Dakota and Piper, his bonus sons Nick and Jacob, bonus daughter Bre, grandson Lucas, his brothers Mark and Jim, sister in law Shannon and his father Mike.
