Remember when I was living with you guys in bellevue. I really wanted to go biking with 7year old Emma along the trail by the freeway. I invited you to come. It took a bit of convincing but you agreed.
We struggled to get all three bikes mounted on the car. After 12min we head off. We get there took down the bikes and walked them up and over the freeway Bridge to get to the trail.
We get there and Emma is already tired. And her bikes has a flat. But I'm determined to know where the trail ends. I look at you, at Emma, the tire. Really not wanting to go back over the Bridge.
(Thinking. Should I leave you and Emma behind and see how far the trail is). Then you offer to go see how far it is. And where it ends.
Emma and I stay and you head off.
I watch you disapeer in the distance. Emma and I wait. 15min go by, 30 min. The longer I waited the more worried I became. 40min Where the heck did you go you should had been back by now.
What should I do? Go looking for you?
What if you come back while I'm gone? Should I leave Emma? Or drag her with me. She will only Weigh me down with her flat. But What if something happen to you and you need help? I start to panic. I decide to lock my bike there on the Bridge. I ran to the car for paper and Pen to leave a note.
"Miguel, I'm dropping off Emma at home. If you get back before I do. Please stay here. Don't move. I'll be right back" it had been an hour since we seperated.
I take Emmas bike and push it up and over the Bridge. Mounted on the car get Emma in and tell her. I'm dropping you off at home. Lock yourself in don't open the door for anyone. I'm going to come back and look for Miguel. If Miguel gets home Call me and let me know.
I pull up to the house and open the door for Emma.
And there YOU are. Walking around in your sleepers eating chips. WHAT THE HECK!!!
we were waitting for you. And you just responded.
'Whaaaat. The trail led back to the house. I was going to call you but I just got home.' 🤦‍♀️
