Mickey's obituary

In Loving Memory of Mickey Roland Johnston

Mickey passed away too soon on March 31, 2025, after a brief illness. Mickey is survived by his wife Clare of Blairsville, his children Marshall Johnston and Bonnie Johnston Schafer(Steve), his brother Noland Johnston, and his grandchildren, Catherine, Jess, Rory and Kaylee.

For several decades, he had his own electrical contracting business. In the past several years, he could be found working in the Blairsville Home Depot electrical department.

Mickey loved the simple joys of life: a fresh pot of coffee, camping under the stars, quilting, tinkering on old clocks and the company of his birds. Above all he loved people. Whether chatting with a neighbor, sharing stories at a coffee shop or making a new friend wherever he went, he had a way of making everyone feel at home. A Celebration of his Life will be held on June 1st at 1 pm, in the dining hall of the House of Prayer Church, Blairsville.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the House of Prayer Church.
