Mick Casteel, 48, passed away on December 8, 2025, in Ellsworth, Maine. Born on August 28, 1977, in Morgantown, West Virginia Mick spent the majority of his life in St. Petersburg, Florida. Mick lived a life defined by love, resilience, and an unwavering devotion to his family. Mick was the beloved husband of Tammy Casteel and a devoted father to Elizabeth Johnsey and her husband Leslie Madewell, Cayman Casteel and his wife Maria Casteel, and Kaitlyn Casteel. He was also a cherished son to Larry Battle and the late Tonia Battle. His siblings, Joe Battle and Candi Battle, held a special place in his heart. Those who knew Mick will remember him as an amazing husband and an incredible father whose family was the center of his world. His love for life was infectious—he found joy in the smallest moments and never let health challenges dim his spirit. Even during difficult times, Mick’s laughter echoed through every room he entered. He found peace at the family’s cabin nestled in the Maine woods—a place that brought him serenity and reflection. The sea also called to him; he had a deep affection for old wooden boats and carried a vast knowledge on nearly any topic. Whether discussing the newest technologies or sharing life stories, Mick’s insights were always thoughtful and engaging. Mick had a heart of gold. If you knew him, you knew that he would be there for you—day or night—without hesitation. His generosity of spirit touched everyone around him. He was not only a pillar of strength for his family but also a loyal friend whose presence brought comfort and joy. Though our hearts are broken by his passing, we take solace in knowing that Mick now rests peacefully in the arms of the Lord. May his memory bring comfort to all who loved him until we meet again.
