Background
Shelly was an active volunteer, donor, and activist. She was committed to helping refugees find a safe home. She worked for years through a committee at her church to house Afghan refugees and support them to integrate into the community. She also loved being near any body of water, often spending holidays or long weekends kayaking in the Potomac River. She was also a strong feminist and pro-choice activist.
Please join us in contributing to one of these causes in her name, whether it be helping to keep children and families safe and find refuge by supporting Save the Children, helping to keep the Potomac River clean and healthy, or supporting the Planned Parenthood of Metro Washington to serve more clients with essential services.
