In February, I had a feeling that it was important to get in touch with Mike. I am so sorry. I did not follow through on that. Mike was one of the nicest men I’ve ever met. Such a warm and caring soul you will be greatly missed by all who knew you

Fifty-two years ago, today I realized two of my best friends shared the same birthday and did not know one another, so I took them to lunch and made the introduction to celebrate. it was an inexpensive lunch ticket at John's restaurant. I paid...the tradition escalated to out-of-town trips and meals.

Atlanta for lunch at the Spring Street ballet, Chicago, New Orleans, Nashville, Atlantic city and even Montgomery. each time Southwest air introduced a promotional fare we booked it. don't believe they ever saw each other between birthdays which made the celebrations special.

I am left with wonderful memories now that my friends are gone.

but I hope they are they are up there celebrating one more birthday together.

Mike was a great guy that we got to know through his son Mike.  You always knew when he entered the room!  Our memories are full of laughter, he was generous and treated our kids like they were his grandkids.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

Mike was a pain in the fanny but I loved him.  The very 1st time we met, we almost got into a fight at Duggan's almost 50 years ago.  Stella set up a meeting of these 2 crazy New York Italians the next day and we ended up being great friends until his last days.  Mike loved his family and would do anything for them.  Mike will be missed by many, especially me.   If there is a heaven and I believe there is, hopefully I will see my old friend again sometime in the future.  Maybe he will finally buy me some drinks.  God Bless you Mike.  Love ya, Your Old Pal, Lauriello

Michael, Uncle Mike by many of his close friends was a sweet soul, a constant gentleman and friend to many. I happened upon him at The Fishmarket Southside in Birmingham just weeks before his death, not knowing his end was so near. A mutual friend Larry Anderson and I had been discussing Uncle Mike and Larry had been in contact with him. We knew he was having issues but not to that extent. It deeply saddens me and I know Larry of his passing. Tee off in Heaven Uncle Mike, the angels have a new friend. With much love and respect to the family.

Mike served as Administrative Director for RWDSU Benefits for 44 years.  His devotion to the task never wavered and while running the fund office, he also helped grow the plans and improve benefits in a time where other plans were failing.

With over 10,000 people covered, he knew members personally and they came to depend on Mike to listen to them- before and after office hours, Mike would surprise people who expected to get an answering machine and instead were greeted by the friendly voice of the Plan Director.  He could look up at the ceiling and recite plan language and then explain it in plain English until the retiree was comfortable.  Sometimes until 8 o’clock at night.

There will never be another Mike Tamucci

What a great example. We will miss him.

Prayers for the Tamucci family. I worked for Mike from 1974 to 1978 at the Union Health Plan. It was before the days of computers. Mike was a good boss and an even better friend, even when he was being stubborn. He was reasonable and always took time to listen and make changes that would benefit everyone as well as the business. And he loved his kids so much. I haven't talked to him in years, but he had a positive in my life and in the lives of others. Praise God for allowing our paths to cross for those few years.
Dear family, this is one of the most beautiful tributes I have ever read and he would be so proud. My husband and I moved into Regency Terrace in 2003 and Mike was one of the first people we met. We all hit it off so well because my husband and I drove (antique) Mercedes so they had a lot to talk about y they were also golf fellows. He talked to me more than several times about his family here and in Atlanta. He loved y'all so much!! I know you know this yourselves but I just wanted to tell you how proud he was of you and you could hear it in his voice and see it in his face. My husband passed away in October of 2020, during covid year, but that did not stop Mike from coming to his service and that meant the world to me. He will be sorely missed. I look forward to meeting you all. Sincerely, Teresa Coleman

We will always cherish our friendship with Mike.. a true Gentleman and friend.. sending our love and condolences to his wonderful family.

A sad day to hear of Mike's passing. To many of us he was uncle Mike. We shared  many rounds of golf,  dinners and nights hitting the clubs over our twenty year friendship.  My son Rex and I will truly miss him. Thanks for the memories for there were many!
