Welsh, Michael — Son of Harris and Stella Welsh (née Stein), born in Overbrook Park, residing in Havertown, PA. Attended Central High School and West Chester University. Educator for over thirty years in Upper Darby School District. Quoted as saying he’s “never worked a day in his life.”

Michael courageously battled cancer for thirteen years. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by friends and family on Friday, August 18th.

Beloved husband of Janice (née Artuso); devoted father of Jamie Welsh (Michelle), Jennifer Sofield (Shannon) and Kevin Welsh; cherished grandfather of Dylan, Samantha, Reagan, Peyton, and Julian. Michael is also survived by his brothers, Gregory (Greg) Welsh (Marlene), and Lee Welsh (Amy). 

Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial service, Wednesday, August 23rd, 2023 at Joseph Levine & Sons, 2811 West Chester Pike, Broomall PA. Visitation will begin at 12:15pm followed by a memorial service at 2:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Michael’s memory can be made to The Michael Welsh Scholarship Fund. The fund will support students of Upper Darby School District who attended Garrettford Elementary School and aspire to pursue a degree in education, thus carrying on Michael's legacy.
