Michael Duane Weeks, (Mike)79, of Hawthorne, FL, passed away on September 28, 2023 after a valiant battle with cancer.

Mike was born on May 24, 1944 to Leonard K. and Lorene J. Weeks in Detroit,  Michigan. He attended Stranahan Highschool in Ft. Lauderdale,  Florida.  He went on to study heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC).  Mike met his wife Paulette in highschool and the neighborhood they both lived in. They married January  13, 1962 as promised, till death do they part, 61 years later. He continued in the HVAC business at multiple companies in south Florida until moving to Hawthorne in 1990.  In 1962 Mike and Paulette began their family going on to have three children, Kimberly Ann,  Michelle Lynn and Michael Leonard.  Mike was a force of nature, determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. He continued life long educating himself and working to excel in his life and business as well as starting his own HVAC company in Hawthorne,  Kounty Kooling.  His family meant more to him than anything else in the world, something he often mentioned.  Through the years Mike was also a passionate National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) race car owner/operator with friends,  loved camping with family, learned to fly small aircraft with a club in Pompano Beach and became an avid bass fisherman as well.  Anyone who knew Mike knew that he was the most loving father and husband a family could ask for. Mike was predeceased by his parents and daughter, Michelle. He is survived by his wife Paulette,  daughter Kim Mathis(Ron), son Mike L. Weeks(Lisa) granddaughter Jamie (Tucker) O'Neill, grandsons Sean (Susana) Mathis and Michael R. Weeks, sister Jan Peer, brother Jerry Lebel (Pat).  There will be a memorial/celebration of life at a later date and will be communicated asap.
