Today is a difficult day as I remember my beloved Uncle Michael. I can’t believe it has been a year since you went to be with the Lord. It seems like yesterday as I deal with the pain of knowing you and Aunt Donna are not here. You were like parents to me! I was lucky to have two sets, mine and you and Aunt Donna. Uncle I miss you both so much. I still have the last text Donna sent to me a few days before her passing and I look at it often. Look at the conversations we had as we mourned you. I think of you both daily. I know I will share life’s moments with you in spirit, but, there are so many big, happy, future moments to come, that I wish I could wrap my arms around you both, in person, and say, how awesome it is for us to celebrate this big moment together and I love you. You will forever be in my heart. - Birdie

Michael was the sweetest man I ever met. When I met Angie in 7th grade, we became BFFs and sisters, and Donna and Michael were my bonus parents who I’ve called Mom and Dad ever since. I feel blessed to be an honorary part of the Washington family. I love you and miss you Dad. I think of you every day and feel your spirit here in your home town of Santa Monica. You live on in the stars, the trees and the music! ❤️❤️❤️ Heather

The passing of Uncle Michael has been difficult to grasp as I never imagined us losing him so soon. He has been a great role model, loving and caring Uncle, and friend to me and my siblings my entire life.
Husband to my mother Maxine’s sister Donna, Uncle Michael was always a present force with Aunt Donna in our life growing up. We spent many family holidays and vacations together. Many days at Disneyland as a family creating memories that would last a life time. Those experiences I had as a child with my family, cousin Angie, Aunt Donna and Uncle Michael can never be replaced. They were priceless and helped to mold me into the woman I am today. When I think of some of my happiest moments, my mind always travels to the time with my family growing up and our time with Uncle Michael, Aunt Donna and cousin Angie.
Uncle Michael was a math wiz and had a very kind heart. Even though he had his own family and a successful career, he found time to help me with my math growing up. There are countless days he would stop by with the family after work or on the weekend when I was a child and help me with my math, his cool way of explaining the math problem and helping me understand the solution made me super comfortable and do well in Math. My love of math came from that time with Uncle Michael. I work in finance today because of my love of math that grew out of the time I spent with Uncle Michael helping me understand it and enjoy it,
I will be forever grateful to my most special Uncle for the time he devoted to his family and my aunt Donna’s family. I will never forget Uncle Michael. Although he has transitioned to the next phase of his being, he will always be here in my life and my heart .
I love you Michael and you will he so missed.
Your loving niece,
Audrie Bertha Marie
