We are sorry for the loss of Mike.  We had many good times together ...in those good old days. Banana daiquiris while floating in inner tubes comes to mind.  And the complete joy and  love that emanated from his  being as he  held each one of his children  when they were newborn's... and onward through their lives.Â
May Mike rest in peace.Â

My condolences to Mike’s family; my deepest feelings are with you. I worked with Mike for years in the Civil Litigation Division at the Attorney General’s Office. As many have written, he was a brilliant lawyer and a wonderful colleague. He handled some of our most difficult and important cases, to which he brought not just his great intellect, but dedication and enthusiasm. After Mike returned to private practice, I was also impressed by the creativity that he brought to the practice of law as he described over happy hour beers the innovative legal claims he came up with to help clients in need.
As others have noted, his love for and pride in his children and grandchildren was boundless. Over the last few years, as Mike told me about his health issues—reporting, but never complaining—he would often finish by declaring that he was nevertheless the luckiest guy in the world because of his children and grandchildren.
I was fortunate to have Mike as a colleague and even moreso to have him as a friend.

I had the privilege of working with Michael on some legal matters. He was an excellent attorney, passionate about his work, and very kind to his clients. He will be missed.Â
