Dear Vanselow family,

Nancy and I are thinking of you today. We would have been at the celebration of Michael's life, but we just returned yesterday from VA, where we welcomed the birth of our grandson.

I will always remember the happy and playful side of Mike. We had so many laughs throughout our law school experience - our celebration the night of graduation was legendary! We enjoyed banana daiquiris up in Keemah. The trek to Madison to watch the Badgers beat the Gophers (and poker in the hotel stairwell). So many visits when we would return from our overseas postings, both in MN and VA.

My admiration for Mike was such that I wrote him a note describing his success as a father, husband and attorney, one he kept in his wallet for many years.

That is the Mike I will always remember. May he rest in peace.
