Michael's obituary
Michael Brent Tumlin passed away on March 18th, at the age of 56, surrounded by his children, Lindsay and Dustin, who were by his side until the very end.
He is survived by his daughter, Lindsay of Montana; his son, Dustin of Georgia; and his beloved grandsons, Cooper, Nolan, and Chance. His loyal dog, Justin Kase Tumlin, remained his faithful companion.
Michael was an avid collector, filling his home with cars, trucks, and racecars—all meticulously arranged, with every piece exactly where it belonged. He had a fascination with all things miniature and a deep love for cereal, proudly calling himself a “Cereal Killer.” A devoted Georgia Tech and NASCAR fan, he never missed an opportunity to cheer on his favorites.
A painter by trade, Michael took great pride in his work, leaving behind a legacy of skill and craftsmanship. His humor, passion, and unique way of seeing the world made a lasting impression on those who knew him.
Michael was the third oldest of six children and is survived by his mother, Glenda of Kentucky, and his siblings, Terry, Trina, Daniel, Jennifer, and Jeremy. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Lonnie Tumlin.
Per his wishes, Michael will be cremated, and no formal service will be held. In his honor, his family invites you to enjoy a bowl of cereal, add a new car to your collection, or root for Georgia Tech on a game day.
Michael will be deeply missed, loved, and fondly remembered.
