Michael's obituary

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Michael "Beulah Mae" Trent, a resplendent beam of light in this world, who left us on October 2, 2023. Born on February 11, 1955, Michael lived a vibrant life, exuding a lively aura, a sharp wit, a magnetic charm, and a deeply ingrained resilience that helped him weather the challenges life threw his way.

Michael was known not just for his cheerful demeanor, but also for his fortitude. He faced adversity, particularly prejudice, with a courage that was insurmountable, teaching us all valuable lessons of acceptance and kindness. Known for his love of fine things and good humor, Michael's spirit was unyielding. He was generous, ambitious, and steadfastly loyal, leaving an indelible mark on everyone who knew him.

Michael, or Beulah Mae as he was fondly called, was a longtime fixture of the San Francisco gay community. His legacy of open-mindedness and care for all, regardless of their circumstances, will continue to inspire generations. He reveled in every moment and experienced life in all its vivid colors. Michael's ability to maintain his personal dignity in trying times was a testament to his strength and grace.

Family was integral to Michael's life. He leaves behind a handpicked curation of chosen family whose bond with Michael was unbreakable and pure. He created an environment where labels did not exist, paving the way for unity, love, and mutual respect. Michael's influence and his lessons on living life to the fullest, rejecting prejudice, and even his unique tips on shopping will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
