Michael's obituary

Michael Thomas Zick, “Papa” age 70 passed away unexpectedly September 24, 2023. He was born on November 13, 1952 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the son of William and Esther (Syalewski) Zick. He was a kind, generous, hard working man that loved his friends and family dearly.

He is survived by his wonderful wife of 55 years Mary Zick, daughter Angela Glodoski, son in-law Jesse Glodoski, and dear grandchildren Dylan Glodoski, Noah Glodoski, Kamden Glodoski. His special furry sidekick “Rocco”. His brother Bill Zick, and sisters Delores Hazelberg (David Hazelberg), and Patricia Wedward. Also survived by many special extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings Leroy Disher (Rosemary Disher) Ronnie Disher, and Bob Zick also by his amazing son Mike Zick.

Michael grew up in Milwaukee with his family and was a long time dedicated retiree of our local telephone company known as Wisconsin Bell, Ameritech, and AT&T serving 37 1/2 years.

Always a kid at heart entertained by his grandchildren in general making sure to give them a challenge on a hunt for miniature treasures or pulling out the new latest toy to check out & enjoy with them! Favorite routine we could expect even if playing it off differently…as we would leave his house he would be chasing us out squirting us with a squirt gun all the way into the car and maybe even through the windows! He loved the Dells and Florida with his family over the years making sure to stay at the newest latest hotel or resort and go on the biggest water slide or bump us to getting kicked out at the bumper car tracks. He shared his years of adventures when he was young and traveled through the United States with family and friends. He loved grilling out and steak was always on the menu…five O clock steakhouse one of his favorites shared with his close special friends for many years. He enjoyed his treats…a root beer float, strawberry shortcake or even a banana split if we stopped at an ice cream shop. He had a deep understanding of history and always on top of local and world happenings without skipping a beat & keeping us in the know. Wrestling was a long time hobby to enjoy with friends and family whether at home or at the ring along with all the local sports. Golf was a favorite to enjoy on the course or even through digital enjoyment taking highest rankings in Wisconsin when he competed with Golden Tee. Cars were another passion partaking in clubs and his were always in the best condition ready to show off.

We will always remember that special smile, that caring heart-Love you forever…Rest in Peace “Papa”♥️
