Michael's obituary

Last year on 12/3/20 long time resident of Cottage Grove, Oregon for 35 years. A local ASE mechanic and Country Musician Michael Howard Talbot passed from complications due to Agent Orange Exposure while serving his country as a Marine in Vietnam. His tour began in 1967 lasting 14 months. Receiving Good Conduct Metal, Presidential Unit Citation (1St MAW) National Defense Service Metal,Vietnam Service Metal w/4#, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Metal w/device and Rifle Expert’s Badge.
Mike Talbot is survived by his wife Paula Ann Talbot and five children Michael Talbot II, Katrina, Francien, Fred and Velton by whom he is sorely missed.
He was born August 20,1947 in Modesto, Ca.
His mother Ruth Talbot is living but father Fred V. Talbot has passed away. Brothers and sister all alive Anthony Talbot, Terri Sams, and Eric Talbot and many Nephews and Nieces.
Michael Talbot first met his wife in 1963 in high school and first dated in 1963 at Ceres Union High School. And graduated together in 1965, married in 1966 shortly before he was shipped out to Vietnam. Michael and his wife Paula had one child before he left on his tour who was named after him to carry on his namesake.
He also was a Grandfather of 6 and GreatGrandfather to 4 boys.
Michael Talbot was a man who had many interests and hobbies in life. Which included such things as freelance photography, (a shared interest and vocation by his wife as well) to the extent of having his own darkroom he built to develop his and his wife's pictures . Michael enjoyed riding motorcycles, owning a Honda goldwing and doing the”Iron ButtRide” and building remote control airplanes from scratch and flying them. Michael enjoyed science fiction novels and all types of sci-fi media including the Doctor who and Star Trek.
As well as British television murder mysteries such as masterpiece theater.
Michael played Drums and Sang in Sally Duncan’s band Easy Country who also had a cameo in a movie titled good luck with Gregory Hines.
He was ranked the number two ASE tech in the country by GM. Michael Talbot also is the author of a top notch sci fi thriller titled" Last in his Class." Not to mention he was an Ordained Minister as well. He was able to marry one of his granddaughters shortly before he passed. He was also a Past Grand Chancellor of the Knights of Phytians of Oregon.
Michael Howard Talbot served his country and his family with the utmost unconditional love and devotion. A model of patience and kindness in every circumstance. He was truly a man apart. Rest in peace Michael Howard Talbot. Your family will always love you more than words can express and remember you as the greatest Man that walked God's green earth. So now you will walk among the Stars with loved ones.
