Michael's obituary
Michael "Mikey" Sweet, 55, of Woburn, MA, passed away on September 8, 2024. Born in Somerville, MA, on April 12, 1969, to the late Judith (Carey) and Raymond Sweet, Mikey was a cherished figure both within his family and his community.
Mikey spent 36 years working at Rohtsteins in Woburn, where his presence was a constant source of joy and camaraderie. Known for his vivacious spirit and love for music, Mikey was often referred to as the karaoke king, a title he wore with pride. An avid member of the Moose Club, he enjoyed participating in meat bingo with his niece Vanessa, showcasing his fun-loving nature and his knack for bringing people together.
He was a man of many passions, but above all, Mikey treasured the time spent with his family during holidays and gatherings, filling their moments with laughter and love. His personality was marked by a genuine caring and happiness that made every interaction with him memorable.
Mikey leaves behind his beloved sister, Erin Sweet of Arlington and her long-term partner, James Tufts; and his adored nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, including Vanessa Tufts, Liliana Ferratusco, Jameson Ferratusco, Hazel Rainey, Jackie Sweet, and Brenden Sweet Rainey. His best friend, John Tufts, also survives him.
A celebration of Mikey’s life will be held at the Moose Lodge in Woburn, MA. Attendees are encouraged to follow the Moose Lodge for confirmation of the date. Mikey's life was a testament to joy, love, and the enduring bonds of family and friendship. He will be sorely missed and forever remembered by all who knew him.
