Michael's obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael "Mike" Sundermeyer. Born on May 5, 1976, Michael embarked on his final journey on January 14, 2025. Often known as Mike by his loved ones, we knew him as a thoughtful and caring father as well as a witty and bright spirit.
Survived by his eldest and only son, Nathan, his youngest and only daughter, Yasmin, his brother Joseph, his grandchildren Kayden and Zamarial, as well as many family members and good friends, Michael has left this earth, leaving behind memories that we will cherish forever. His love for soul food, tamales, and his cats by his side while talking through every single movie will be fondly remembered. His joyous personality and kind disposition will be missed, as he offered a listening ear judgement free to anyone in need.
More than anything, Michael enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He found true contentment in recreational activities such as snuggling with his pets, taking care of his mom over the years, immersing himself in an intriguing movie, or busy in his kitchen, cooking a meal for his loved ones. The rich aroma wafting from his kitchen will be greatly missed, as will his wonderful sense of humour and the sound of his laughter. He loved big and was so proud of his family.
In memory of Michael and to support his children through this tough time, a fund has been set up to offset costs of the cremation. Donations can be made at https://everloved.com/life-of…. Instead of flowers, we encourage all who are able to donate, as a testament to Michael's enduring spirit and loving family.
Michael's departure is certainly a great loss, but his departure will not erase the beautiful memories and legacy that now lives through his family. We will always remember the joy he brought into our lives, and the wonderful times we shared. May his soul rest easy.
