I am just now seeing this news. So very sorry. Mike was hilarious and bright, and lit up the dreary first year of law school with fun. Wishing comfort and wonderful memories to Laura and family.
I remembered when i walked into your office looking depressed because i was about to lose my late fathers Estate and he looked at my face asked me to give him a handshake surprised he shook my hand and told me your estate will be restored on our 1st our court hearing. Eventually my estate was restored on our first court hearing, although i am not much younger than him, i looked upon him as my hero from that day. May his soul rest in peace.
I was fortunate to spend many holidays with Mike, Laura, Adam and Claire in Rochester as our families have been close for years. Mike was always there filled with love, laughter and great conversation. He was an amazing husband and father, and the turkey was always cooked to perfection with Mike in charge at TG! He will be greatly missed by my entire family. Our love goes out to Laura, Adam, Claire, Doris and Marshall and Mike's family.
Mike's career was that of a respected, talented, intelligent, ethical, steady and empathetic attorney; But amazingly, these were the most insignificant aspects of his legacy. Those of us lucky enough to know Mike as a friend and mentor are left with countless stories of his kindness, joy of life, brilliantly timed sarcasm, plethora of historical knowledge, and playful willingness to correct all of our grammatical mistakes.
To Laura, his children, and immediate family I offer my most sincere condolences. He spoke of you all the time, with glowing love and pride. If it gives you any peace, please know how much joy, comfort, and security Mike brought to his colleagues and friends, and he lives on through all of us in our best of memories. While devastated, I feel blessed to have known Mike and experience some of the great joy he brought to the world. He will be so missed, but always with us.
There is nothing I can say. Mike's warm smile always welcomed, he was fully present in a way that lit up our times together, on the Hudson, dancing to 80s Revolution, at the Cutting Room, out for dinner, around the table with friends, even watching a movie. Mike had a way of making you feel special with his quiet and authentic warmth, his enthusiasm. Laura, Claire, Adam, my heart is both full and empty. I am so sorry for your loss. With love, Roberta
