Michael's obituary

Page 1 of 1Michael Carl Stasch April 9, 1963 - June 11, 2023 Beloved husband and father, Michael Carl Stasch, passed away peace- fully on Sunday, June 11, 2023. Mike valiantly battled stage IV esoph- ageal cancer for 51⁄2 years, fighting for more time with his family. Mike referred to Jill as his trophy wife. His father-in-law introduced the couple and called him “a prince of a man.” His friends and family agree! Mike and Jill got married in the Caribbean on the Grand Prin- cess cruise ship, making Jill’s dream of The Love Boat a reality. Mike loved and cherished his nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephew, and friends’ children so much that he always longed for a child of his own. Welcoming his son Evan was an answer to his hopes and dreams. In addition to his loving wife, Jill Yordy Stasch, and his devoted son, Evan Michael Stasch, Mike is survived by three faithful rescue dogs— Phineas, Peanut, and Fuji—who adored him. Other family members include dear sister and brother-in-law, Debbie and Paul Cvitkovich, his loving nephew and wife Brian and Mel Cvitkovich, and their sweet daughters Wrenley and Emory. He was also a beloved uncle to Tracy Cvitkovich and loved her sense of adventure. His sisters-in-law Patty and Jeanne Yordy were close to Mike’s heart as they helped care for he, Jill, and Evan during two weeks of at- home hospice care. Mike was also a devoted uncle to Zachary, Jacob, and Nathan Yordy, Ben and Brian Sutter, Elias and Adele Yordy Baer, as well as honorary uncle to Katie and Maggie Kostner. He was also “not-my-uncle” to Matteo and Gael Cruz. He was known as Touch-Up Mike for the business he ran for 30 years painting and touching up cars. He frequently got into mischief at work and loved doing pranks. He loved going to the Sema Car Show in Las Vegas whenever he could. He took Jill one year, his nephew Brian C. on Brian’s 21st birthday, and last year was hon- ored to take his son there, which fulfilled a lifelong dream. Mike was generous with his time, his love, and with trademark odd- ball gifts. He loved giving boxes of Nutty Bars, bottles of his favorite Curly’s BBQ sauce, Krispy Kreme donuts, corn dogs, and always extra gifts for the children in his life. He was a gentle spirit, wickedly funny, and one of the toughest badasses we will ever know. To know Mike was a blessing. Mike was preceded in death by his loving dad, George “Chief” Stasch, and his beautiful mom, Betty Stasch, as well as his beloved father-in-law, Jim Yordy, his hilarious brother-in-law Jeff Yordy, and by his niece Josey Yordy Baer. If you have a Ouija board, keep in touch. Cheers, sweetheart!
