Michael's obituary

Michael Lynn Snead

Born July 25th, 1971 in Houston, Texas to Harvey Morgan Snead and Freeda Bernice Burton, he was the baby of the family.

Michael was often called many different names. Some knew him was Mike, his family often called him Fluff, and to so many he was peg-leg, but the most special name he had was Poppy.

He was a son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and a damn good friend. You either loved Mike or couldn’t stand him. His quick wit and unfiltered mouth is what made him memorable.

Many didn’t know that one of Mike’s favorite hobbies was cooking. He went to culinary school, and you wouldn’t know it with the crazy recipes he came up with, but his favorite thing to make was his dads spaghetti sauce.

Mike made so many friends from many walks of life. He spent 35 years in the construction business, where he met no stranger, following in his dad and older brothers footsteps. He spent 10 years volunteering for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo where he was the life of the party in his heehaw overalls and purple afro. One of his favorite pastimes was the many of years running his girls all over the country chasing banners at cattle shows. He would always say “I’ve got a wife, 2 daughters, and a barn full for cattle, driver carries no cash.”

His passion from a young age was custom vehicles. Everything needed a stereo, to be loud, and fast. When Mike got into the custom car scene he instantly made friends and everyone welcomed him with open arms.

Mike truly never met a stranger and would do anything for anyone as so many would say, he would give the shirt off his back and give them the last dollar in his pocket.

Mike was married to his wife of 35 years, Yvette. Many will say Mike went from being raised by his mom to Yvette raising him. He raised 3 great kids that he was so proud of Garth, Cheyanne, and Mikala, and considered so many others his kids too. He had 4 grandchildren that he adored, Ryleigh, Cooper, Ella, and Paige, and a host of others who considered Mike their Papa Mike, Uncle Fluff, and many other names.

He is proceeded in death by his parents, Harvey and Freeda Snead as well as his brothers, Daryl Snead and Harold Snead.

Mike is survived by his loving wife Yvette Snead, Son Garth (Cayli), Daughters Cheyanne (Chris), and Mikala, brother Roger(Susie), sister Katy(David) and numerous nieces and nephews.

A special thank you to Joey Tarver for doing the most selfless act of donating a kidney to Mike, he was able to piss people off for an extra 2 and a half years.

Honorary pallbearers are Chris Jozwiak, John Dean, Ashton Meyers, Marc Roberts, Jason Bradley, Joe Wise, Brian Hybner, Chad Shetsky, and Brent Lee

In true Mike fashion “peace out bitches!”
