Michael Lennox Shabazz died at the John Hopkins Emergency Hospital on Sunday, October 4th, 2020 at the young age of 30. Michael Shabazz is survived by his loving wife, Sheila Renee Shabazz (Williams), of 12 years. They were married in Atlantic City, New Jersey on May 8th, 2008.
Michael Shabazz is lovingly remembered by daughter and son, Nami Rene Shabazz and Michael Lennox Shabazz Jr. of Baltimore, Maryland. Sisters: Sydney Johnson (Shabazz) (Baltimore City, reside Louisville), Lauryn Shabazz (Jersey City), nieces: Tiana Shabazz, & Rianna Shabazz and nephews: Henry Shabazz. All of Jersey City.
Michael was born in Baltimore, Maryland on the 10th of April of 1990. He graduated from Paul Laurence Dunbar High School in 2008 and went on to earn a degree in Business Administration from Coppin State University in 2012. Then proceeded to obtain a Master of Business Administration from the University of Louisville in 2016. He worked farther and received his Doctor of Business Administration from Florida International University in May of 2020. He worked as a CFO trainee for a United States Stocks and Marketing company based out of China. Michael enjoyed teaching, education, bird watching, spending time with his family, and travelling with his wife and family.
Due to COVID-19 and current social distancing regulations, there will be no in-person visitation for anyone outside of immediate family. The live remembrance will be held Friday, October 9th, 2020 at 11:00 AM. A link will be provided to the family. A gathering for the family will be held at these locations: home of Lauryn Shabazz for family residing in the west of the United States, and home of Grace Shabazz (for family residing in Baltimore, New Jersey, and New York). We should have a list of everyone attending, but for any reason if your plans have changed be contact us.
Please only attend if you are in good health.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Maranda Travis who will get them to the family.
