Michael's obituary
On September 16th, 2023, Michael “Mike” Scott Turner, beloved father, brother and friend, peacefully passed away at 67 years of age. Born in Alma, Michigan, to Johann and Arthur E. Turner. Mike was a proud supporter, advocate, and alumnus of Northwood University, founded by his parents. Michael went on to become a forensic certified public accountant and real estate broker. Michael lived in Wimberley, Texas, for the last 15 years where he founded and built Lotus Ranch Retreat Center with his son, Mark Turner, and family Ashley Stephens and Ajoni Stephens. Mike found peace on his ranch and in the Wimberley community, forming strong friendships and providing a space for spiritual introspection to guests from all over the world.
He had a passion for helping people and used his CPA business as a way to do so with his unique skill set. Mike will be remembered as someone who always wanted to lend a hand and give others a chance. He felt so many had helped him in his life, he was always looking for a way to pay it forward.
Mike was a talented artist that ranged from sculpture, charcoal sketches, oil and acrylic paintings. His work was exhibited in galleries and was a significant source of joy and pride in his life.
Michael leaves behind his brother Steven Turner, his three dear children, Stephaine Simmons, Scott Turner, and Mark Turner, and his cherished grandchildren, Ajoni, Walker, Leah, and Barrett, along with his ex wife and friend Elaine Turner.
