Michael's obituary
Michael Scott Smith, age 47, of Berea, KY, passed away on November 22, 2024. Born on May 30, 1977, in Naperville, IL, to Ronald and Linda Smith (both deceased), Michael was a man of many talents, passions, and a heart that touched all who knew him.
Michael grew up in Forest Park, OH, where his quick wit and charm began to shine. He later moved to Loveland, OH, when he married Jennifer Keller (deceased). Together, they built a life centered on love, laughter, and a deep appreciation for family and nature.
A man of many trades and talents, Michael was a skilled chef, HVAC-certified professional, and an extraordinary guitarist, whose music brought joy to countless lives. His love of music was rivaled only by his love of books, his knack for humor, and his talent for engaging anyone in conversation. Fluent in sarcasm and quick with a joke, he brightened every room he entered.
Michael found solace and serenity in nature, where he loved to spend time. An avid animal lover, he had a special way of connecting with creatures great and small, and they loved him in return.
He is survived by his children: Christian Smith (Olivia), Anthony Munz (Amanda), Tommy DesMarais (Cassandra), and Lukas DesMarais (Arianna). He was the proud grandfather to eight beloved grandchildren, who brought him immense joy and pride. Michael also leaves behind siblings Kimberly Ammons (Robert), Stephanie Maines (Dale), and Kevin Smith, along with countless friends and extended family who will miss him dearly.
Michael's life was a symphony of love, laughter, and resilience. His legacy lives on in the hearts of his family and all who were fortunate to know him.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to an animal shelter or nature conservation organization in his honor, reflecting his deep love for both animals and the natural world.
