Michael T Rutkowski, passed away on September 6, 2024.

Mike was born on July 13, 1946, to Wally and Ann (Deneka) Rutkowski in Kenosha, WI. He attended several schools while growing up and graduated from Bradford High School and Moler Barber College in Chicago, IL.

Mike was a proud US Army veteran and served an extended tour of duty in Vietnam. Mike was also a barber who owned Connie's Barbary Coast Hairstyling Salon in the Lakehurst Mall in Waukegan, IL. He will be extremely missed by his many loyal customers, many of whom he considered to be his closest friends.

Mike was united in marriage with Connie (Post) on September 16, 1972. This month they would have celebrated 52 wonderful years of marriage. Mike and Connie have done everything together since the day they were married including working together at the Barbary Coast.

Mike lived his life simply and with grace. He was one who would often extend himself to help a neighbor or a friend or family member who needed a helping hand. Mike was known for doing what he wanted when he wanted. Mike would work hard on a daily basis and used to spend his off time traveling the world with Connie, camping, or working on his model trains in his basement.

Mike was always the practical joker. He would randomly start laughing or talking loudly in a restaurant to get everyone else to start doing the same thing.

Mike is survived by his wife Connie; sister Susan (Stuart) Leopold and brother Paul; and many nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by his parents.

A service honoring the life Mike Rutkowski will be held on Friday, September 27, 2024 at the Southern WI Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove, WI. The service will begin promptly at 3:00pm (please arrive by 2:45pm). Following the interment, a Celebration of Life for family and friends to to gather and share their favorite stories and memories of Mike will be held at the VFW Post 1865 at 6618 - 39th Ave, in Kenosha from 5 - 9pm. Food will be served with coffee/water.
