Mike "Michael Bernard" Roney, 75, of Alton, Illinois, passed away on February 23, 2024. Born on September 5, 1948, in Louisville, Kentucky, he was a father, brother, grandfather, and esteemed member of the Evergreen Place in Alton Illinois. Among many things, Mike was known for his kindness.

Mike graduated from St. Xavier High School and the University of Kentucky College of Law. Mike served in the ROTC with honor, as District Judge for three terms, eventually becoming Chief Judge in 1986 at Fayette District Court. He was an educator and author as Adjunct professor at both the University of Kentucky and Midway College. After his legal career, Mike co-managed a local restaurant in Louisville, Kentucky

Mike's love for Kentucky basketball was evident to all who knew him. His enthusiasm for the sport created lasting memories with friends and family. In quieter moments, he would immerse himself in a book.

He is survived by his father Ben, stepmother Evelyn, brothers Jacques and Glenn, sister Monette, daughter Beth, son Jason, and grandchildren Jordyn, Davis, Blake, Elliott, Wells, and Layne. Mike was preceded in death by his mother, Simone and wife Gladys whom he loved deeply.
