Many years ago, my husband Richard and I went to visit Kathy and Mike in Utah. One lovely sunny morning Mike decided that he would wash the outside windows. He was up on a ladder, as the windows were quite high, and he was cleaning away when Richard & Kathy walked into the room and stood in front of the window that Mike was cleaning. They both looked at each other and without saying a word they both turned around and mooned Mike at which time he almost fell off the ladder!!!! Richard is Kathy’s uncle and for some reason they are usually on the same page without uttering a word!!! It was hysterical to see and a good thing Mike didn’t really hurt himself!!!
Another great memory we had of Mike and Kathy was when they came to the Cape to visit us. It was around the 4th of July which was Kathy’s birthday. She had always wanted to go to Boston to hear the famous Boston Pops and see the fireworks on the 4th! So we got a few folks together and rented a limo and off we went to Boston to fulfill Kathy’s wish!! It was a beautiful night and we all had the best time. During that same trip we decided to take a boat ride to Martha’s Vineyard, rent a jeep and check out the island! It had to be the HOTEST day of the year and I thought we would all melt. We kept hoping from store to store, not to shop but to take advantage of the A/C in each store! We did a lot of laughing that day!

To the Mike Reardon family. I share my condolences with the loss of a great man . I am very proud to have known Mike not only as my High School Football Coach and teacher but also as my friend. We have talked periodically over the last 50 years or so and I have the honor of having been a player and a friend to Mike . May the Good Lord bless all of the Mike Reardon family and especially may the Good Lord Bless “Coach Reardon “ Until we meet again!!!

Mike was a dear friend, confidant, brother and father to me for the last 40 years. We spoke twice a week sharing wisdom, opinions, cuss words and family stuff. He was full of integrity and outspoken on his philosophies. He was a good listener and always honest with his advice and concerns. He didn't cheat! If you lived in his boundaries you could play for him, if you didn't, you better get your butt back to your original head coach.
He believed in tough love but cracked a bit when he saw someone hurting. The reason he was everyone's best friend is because he adored and understood dogs. Loyalty no matter what was his motto. Be a man, be honest and be trustworthy. He lucked out marrying Kathy who adored him, dogs and Notre Dame. They were perfect together. This one hurts!

I have known coach for about 4 years. He is the most honest, forthright, kind and caring human I have ever known. His wit and wisdom are unparalleled. He became my mentor, advisor and comedy relief. I will miss him until the day I die. He was my best friend and my coach. See ya at the movies and I will never like Land Man!

He was my head football coach in the early 90s at Cottonwood. I loved it! He was a kind yet driven coach that inspired you to be better. I love this memories! I always admired his thigh muscles he showed off with his short coaching shorts. 😆 I always wanted thighs like his! Coach was awesome! Great memories with him!

Coach Reardon was the kind of coach you wanted to play for, very inspiring yet honest. He saw through to your truth. You never wanted to disappoint. He is the kind of person I hope others see in me. It’s sad news to hear of his passing.
