Michael Purpura, 82, of Dayton, OH, passed away on December 27, 2025 at Ohio's Hospice of Dayton.
Michael was born on October 25, 1943 to Michael F. Purpura and Josephine (Mercurio) Purpura in Harrison, Pennsylvania. After graduating New Kensington High School in 1961, he attended the United States Merchant Marine Academy where he obtained a BS in Nautical Science. During his time at the academy, he played football, was a Scholastic Star, and a member …
