Mike earned many achievements throughout his extensive sports career including for track and basketball in high school, and powerlifting and softball as an adult. He also refereed, umpired, and coached various sports for which he was lovingly nicknamed "Coach" by his grandkids.

children: Scott Peavy, Zan Kio, and Chase Peavy
grandchildren: Sailor, Crews, Clementine, Ocean, and Southern
