Mike's obituary
Michael Allen Paddock died February 14. He was born on February 17, 1952 in Dillon, Montana. He was the 2nd of six children born to Mary Ann and Arnold (Smokey) Paddock. Mike leaves behind a son, Michael and several granddaughters. He is survived by his brothers and sisters, Gena, Pat, Ariel, Liz and Joe.
When Mike was 13 the family moved to Arizona. Mike owned a small flooring business until he became disabled due to arthritis. He was well known throughout the valley for his work. He did a basketball court at the Phoenician all out of tile; including all the lines and center circle. It truly was a work of art.
It's hard to know if Mike liked fishing or rc car racing more. He built a track at his home and held races every weekend he wasn't out fishing. To Mike, his friends, fellow race fanatics, were family, as were his two dogs. Weekends were shared laughing and sharing good food.
His son is continuing his racing legacy. Paddock’s RC track is located off Interstate 10 in Goodyear. A memorial will be held at the track later this month.
Mike had a sense of humor and quick wit like his mother. He was generous and always willing to help. His friendship was rare and not easily found. Mike is missed by his family and friends.
