Michael's obituary
Michael “Mosca” Torres, born January 24, 1964 and died July 6, 2023.
He was loved by many and will be greatly missed. He was a strong but gentle man with a big heart. He was always willing to help those he loved in any way he could. He had advice or a good book recommendation to help you get through a tough time. He had a way of making you feel that it was all going to be okay. Even though he couldn’t physically be with us in our daily lives, he was there in spirit and we kept him close in our hearts and thoughts. He was a family man and he had so much love for his family. He loved them fiercely and would do anything for them.
He had an entrepreneurial spirit and a head for business. He was very intellectual and had the ability to learn anything from a book. Books dominated much of his short life. He had the ability to read a person immediately upon meeting them. He also had a way of looking you in the eyes when he spoke to you. It felt like he could see into your soul, which is what made him who he was, someone that gave you all of his attention, always making you feel like you were the most important person in the room. He had beautiful penmanship and his letters were like a work of art. To express himself in his letters, for over 30 years, he would add what we now call emoji’s. Some of the expressions he used were a winky face, a laughing face, and a happy face. He always wrote his letters using a blue pen. He was an artist and created many works of art using pen and pencil on paper. He enjoyed a cold Pepsi in the evenings and his favorite food was chili beans. He loved the Denver Broncos and his favorite colors were blue and white. His favorite type of music was oldies, with his favorite song being The Duke of Earl by Gene Chandler. He had a love of classic cars and enjoyed the little things in life. He could find the positive in any situation. He was a great man that was taken too soon. May he Rest In Peace.
