Michael's obituary
Michael Byron Necas, 78, of Glenview, IL, passed away on Thursday, January 5th, 2023. Mike was born on September 23, 1944 to Emmet and Myrtle Necas in Seattle, Washington. After graduating in 1962 from Loyola Academy, he received his Bachelors Degree in Marketing at John Carroll University in Cleveland, OH. He then completed his MBA in Business Administration from Loyola University in Chicago. On November 8th, 1969, he married Eileen Shea of Wilmette, IL. They moved to Prospect Heights, IL in 1976 to start their family and were blessed to have three sons: Michael, Keil, and Sean.
Big Mike was a "Legend" in the minds of neighbors, friends, and family. He was quick with a joke and put a smile on even the most serious face. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world. He was unendingly proud of Eileen, Michael, Keil and Sean and always tried his best to support them with his encouragement and love. Anyone who knew Mike knew that he took tremendous pride in being a family man and their home in Prospect Heights was a warm and loving household.
Michael Byron was a passionate Notre Dame football fan (Emmet’s alma mater) and an all-around Chicago sports nut, but all that was secondary to his true passion – his green thumb. An avid gardener, a passion he inherited from Myrtle, he would often be found outdoors meticulously tending to his many plants, flowers and gardens.
He was predeceased by his father and mother Emmet and Myrtle Necas, Mary Beth Shea Jaffy, Brian Pressler, and Mark Pressler. He is survived by his wife Eileen, Sons - Michael, Keil, and Sean, Daughter in laws Amy and Carolyn, Sister – Nan and her husband John Bedford, Brother – Kevin, Nephews – Rob, Kurt, Kevin Jr and Daniel Jr, Nieces - Kelly, Beth, Christie, Amy, Sarah, and Jennifer, Grandchildren - Michael Byron II, Melody, Maverick, Mia, Charlie, Luciana, Tessa, Nathan, and Declan. Mike loved his sisters-in-law and brother-in-law Joanne Pressler, Kathy Sanders and Dan Shea.
"Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us every day, unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed, and very dear.
