Michael's obituary
Michael “Mike” Anthony Mucciarone, age 80, of Millcreek, passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Mt. Clemens, MI on August 16, 1945, the son of the late Michael Angelo and Dorothy Pizzi Mucciarone.
In addition to his parents, aunt Elizabeth Petz, cousins Gerald (Joanne) Petz and Shirley Cairns, mother-in-law Dororthy Anderson, sister-in-law Janet Stetson, and half-brother Constance Mucciarone, Mike was preceded in death by his beloved son, Kyle Anderson Mucciarone.
Michael is survived by his wife of 51 years, Barbara Anderson Mucciarone, as well as his loving and heartbroken children - daughter Libby Anderson Mucciarone of Millcreek and daughter and son-in-law Jenna Anderson and Justin Allen Salsberg of New Paltz, NY. He leaves behind extended family including his sister-in-law Louisa Berry, nieces Shannon Bannister and Abby Stetson, nephews Nick and Robin Berry, cousins Anita Jones, Joan (Al) Nathal, Gwendolyn Byrne, Gary Mucciaroni (David Silverman), and their loving children and grandchildren.
Mike graduated from Tech Memorial High School in 1963 and attended Gannon University. His great intellect and unmistakable charm led Michael to start several successful businesses in the plastics and manufacturing sector, including Logical Minicomputers, LBM Computer Systems, Camis Systems, and Intrac Systems. He served as an elder at Fairview Presbyterian Church and devoted his volunteer time sharing his faith and performing ministry through Kairos prison ministry and Koinonia for many years, expanding his rich network of friends
Michael was deeply loyal and possessed an endless capacity for hope and resilience in the face of adversity - all evidenced by his lifelong identification as a die-hard Cleveland sportsfan. He survived decades in Erie’s cold winters as a part of Gannon basketball’s famed Murderer’s Row, and traveled all over the country steadfast in his support of the men’s and women’s teams; still watching their games in his final weeks.
Dad’s whip smart and cutting sense of humor, devotion to his family, and ability to connect with almost anyone made him larger than life and he will be missed deeply by those lucky enough to have been loved by him.
As he taught his daughters when they learned to drive - “what is behind you, she does-a-not matter.” We are grateful to know that for Dad only peace, joy, and love are ahead.
Donations may be made in his memory to Blood Cancer United.
