Michael “Mike”'s obituary
Michael “Mike” Evans, 55, passed away on February 9, 2026.
Born on August 28, 1970, Mike made his home just outside San Antonio, where he built a life defined by independence, quiet pride, and the things he loved most. He had a deep passion for mechanics and could often be found surrounded by the tools he treasured so much. To Mike, those tools were more than metal and steel, they represented skill, hard work, and the satisfaction of fixing what was broken. He took great pride in his craft and the knowledge he carried in his hands. Like many, Mike faced difficult seasons in his life. In time, he found the courage to change the things he could, the acceptance to make peace with the things he could not, and the wisdom to know the difference. Those who knew his journey understood how hard-won that peace truly was.
Mike also spent many meaningful years at the HOW Foundation, where he built significant and lasting relationships. The friendships he formed there were an important part of his life, offering connection, support, and shared understanding during some of his most transformative years.
Mike is survived by his brothers, Daniel and Gilbert Evans. He is also survived by his daughter, Kai, whom he was very proud of. He is further survived by the many friends who cared deeply for him and whose lives were enriched by knowing him.
Though there will be no formal service, those who knew Mike will remember him in their own ways, through the sound of a well-tuned engine, the weight of a trusted wrench, or the quiet moments that come to mind. He will be remembered fondly and missed by those whose lives he touched.
