Michael's obituary
LTC Michael Mague, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and distinguished Army Aviator Veteran, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Vail, Arizona, on February 1, 2025, at the age of 78.
Born on September 30, 1946, in Washington, D.C., Mike lived a life of dedication, service, and love. He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Lena Mague, and his brothers, Timothy and Allan Mague. His Parents-in-laws Gyneth and Wanda "Johnnie" Schuth and Brother-in-law Gary Schuth.
Michael, affectionately known as Mike, grew up in Tucson, Arizona, where he graduated from Palo Verde High School before attending the University of Arizona. It was there that he met the love of his life, Linda E. Mague, with whom he shared 58 wonderful years of marriage.
Mike is remembered by his wife, Linda, his two sons Brian Mague of San Ramon, CA (Leslie) and Brent Mague of Waxhaw, NC (Robyn), and his four cherished grandchildren, Braden, Lila, Olivia, and Isabel Mague. He is also survived by his two sisters, Patricia Taylor (Rod), Marianne Mague, and his brother, Jeffrey Mague (Judith), his sister-in-law Linda K. Mague along with several beloved Nephews, Nieces, friends and furry companions.
Throughout his honorable military and civilian career, Mike built a legacy of integrity, kindness, and unwavering dedication. He leaves behind many dear family members and friends who will forever treasure his warmth, wisdom, humor, and enduring spirit.
Mike served with distinction in the United States Army for 29 years, earning numerous honors for his dedication and bravery, including:

Mike’s legacy of service, love, and unwavering commitment to family and country will be cherished forever.
A visitation and memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at Brings Broadway Chapel. Mike will be laid to rest with full Military Funeral Honors on Friday, March 7, 2025, at the Southern Arizona Veterans Cemetery in Sierra Vista, near Fort Huachuca, where he honorably retired from the Army.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Army Emergency Relief Fund or University of Arizona Eller College of Management.
