Michael's obituary
With sincere sorrow, we announce the departure of Mr. Michael Wiley on October 17, 2024. Born on June 9, 1955, Michael lived a full life marked with humor, brilliance, and a tenacious spirit. He was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, who left an indelible impression on all who knew him.
Michael is survived by his children, Paula Wiley and Christopher Wiley; his brothers John Wiley and David Greiner ; his grandson, Maxwell Rodriguez; and his ex-wife, Paula D. Wiley. He is also remembered by his son-in-law, Carlos Rodriguez; ; sister-in-law, Rita Greiner; and his nieces and nephew: Deanna, Krystina, Rachel , and Joshua. Michael was predeceased by his parents, Shirley Greiner and Sydney Wiley.
A devout attendee of the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Michael also served as a District Warden and Grand Knight at the Knights of Columbus. His commitment to service was evident in his prior attendance at the US ARMY. Nothing mattered more to Michael than family, a value he demonstrated through his greatest accomplishment, his children.
Known for his sarcasm, obstinacy, and intelligence, Michael was a man of substance and character. His favorite pastimes included indulging in traveling the ocean via cruises; enjoying steak and potatoes, sipping Pepsi, and watching his favorite TV shows MASH and Star Trek. A fan of sci-fi, military and western movies, he also enjoyed playing golf. His life philosophy can be distilled into two lessons: Do it yourself when you can and work hard.
Michael will be remembered for his resilience, his refusal to complain in the face of adversity. His memory will be fondly cherished, especially by his grandson and his pet dog, Gibbon. His legacy will remain as an enduring beacon of strength, resilience, and love within his family and community. Michael Wiley will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
