Michael's obituary
Michael "Mike" Kyser, 64, of Prichard, AL, passed away on March 14, 2024, after a two-year battle with lung cancer.
Michael was born on April 1st, 1959, to John and Mary Kyser in Prichard, AL. After graduating from Cedargrove Academy in 1977, he embarked on a journey of hard work and dedication. He devoted 8 years of service at Altapointe and later spent 13 years at Walmart. In 1989, fate intervened when he met Monica, the love of his life. They exchanged vows in 1997, nurturing a bond that brought forth four beautiful children, Tamecia, Jacarri, Johnnie, & Daija.
A towering presence with a heart of gold, Michael was a force of nature, driven by an unwavering commitment to providing for his family. His devotion knew no bounds, and he tirelessly worked to ensure his loved ones had every opportunity to thrive. Family was the cornerstone of his existence, and he cherished every moment spent with them, often expressing that they were his greatest treasure.
In addition to his dedication to family, Michael had a deep passion for sports, particularly the Lakers and Cowboys. Whether cheering for his favorite teams or engaging in his hobbies, such as washing cars and tending to the home and yard, he approached life with enthusiasm and vigor.
But above all, Michael will be remembered for his boundless love and unwavering support. His presence brought warmth and comfort to all who knew him, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those he touched. As a father and husband, his love knew no bounds, and his legacy of kindness and generosity will forever live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
Michael is survived by his beloved wife, Monica, and their children: Tamecia and her spouse Vincent, Jacarri and his spouse Lauren, Johnnie, and Daija and 10 Grandkids. He is also survived by his mother, Mary; mother-in-law, Agolia; and his siblings: Johnny, Charles and his spouse Karen, Darius and his spouse Almeda, Levern, Linda, and Barbara and her spouse Miguel; and his brother-in-law and sisters-in-law: Tyrus and his spouse Joanna, Frinzetta, Michael, Gina, Simone and his spouse Debbie, and Sonyea "Dolane" and his spouse Kristy. Michael was cherished by his dedicated and devoted nephew, Tramain Coats. A host of relatives and friends will continue to cherish his memory.
He is preceded in death by his father, John, and father-in-law, Johnnie; and three brothers-in-law Carlton, Marion, and Kelvin.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 23rd at 10:30AM at Canaan Baptist Church in Mobile, AL.
