Michael's obituary
October 4, 1941 - August 27, 2025
Michael Joseph Kostuke Sr. passed away peacefully in his home in Santee, California on August 27, 2025, with his son Michael Joseph Kostuke Jr. and his granddaughter Lauren Nikole Clarke by his side.
He was born on October 4, 1941, in Kansas City, Kansas.
Michael shared over 60 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Mary Elizabeth Sullivan Kostuke whom he lovingly called "Sugar," who entered eternal rest before him. Together they built a life of love, family, and faith that will live on through their children and grandchildren.
He proudly served in the United States Navy, where he was primarily stationed at Moffet Field in Californa.
Michael worked for many years as a hardworking construction painter, a trade that reflected his dedication and resilience. Known as "Papa" to his grandchildren, he treasured his family above all else.
Beyond his work and service, Michael had a lifelong love for sports. He was an enthusiastic fan of the Kansas City Chiefs, the Kansas City Royals, and NASCAR.
Michael is survived by his children: Michael Joseph Kostuke Jr., Stephani Dennis, and Jocelyn Mai Kostuke; and his beloved grandchildren, who will always remember him as "Papa." He will be remembered always and his presence will be deeply missed.
Dad, thank you. Rest in peace.
