Michael's obituary
It is with profound sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of Michael Kempf on June 18, 2024. Born on August 10, 1949, he was a beacon of love, wit, punctuality, determination, generosity, and Godliness, leaving behind a legacy of faith and family.
Those who had the privilege of knowing Michael can attest to his unwavering faith in God and his unending love for his family. He was a mentor to many, teaching the vital lessons of putting God first, trusting in Him in all circumstances, taking care of family, and being financially responsible. He was stubborn in his principles, yet exuded compassion and warmth towards everyone he met.
In his professional life, Michael was a Vietnam Veteran who proudly served in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S Hancock, which received a Navy Unit Commendation during the Vietnam Conflict. Later in life, Michael achieved significant success by building, owning, and managing two distinguished learning centers for children in Austin. He was immensely proud of these accomplishments, but his true joy was in the way he was able to influence the lives of the children who passed through these centers. This was a testament to his giving spirit and enduring passion for education.
Michael's legacy is not only encapsulated in his professional accomplishments but also in the sanctuary he created for his family. In 2018, he and his beloved wife, Liz, purchased a 46-acre ranch in Cameron, Texas. This forever home is a testament to his love, providing a haven for his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and a place for friends and family to enjoy and cherish.
Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing on Friday, June 28th from 6:00-8:00 PM at Marek-Burns-Laywell, 2800 N. Travis, Cameron, TX 76520. Funeral services will be Saturday, June 29th at 11:00 AM at Christian Community Church, 5221 TX-36, Cameron, TX 76520. Michael will be laid to rest following the service at Twisted Creek Cemetery, 612 County Road 202, Cameron, TX 76520. A meal/reception will follow interment at Christian Community Church.
Michael was a gracious and humble servant of God, a loving family man, and a trusted friend to many. His influence will be forever etched in the hearts of those he touched. He will be sorely missed.
