There will never be a day that goes by without my heart screaming for Mike and Billie. To lose Mike is to lose the other half of me. I was a better person to know both Mike and Billie. I hope they haunt me, so I can keep them close to my heart.
Captain Mike, I was your maid of honor, I was your matron of honor. It has been an honor to be your friend for these past 50 years! My heart goes out to Deb I, DebII, Elizabeth I, Elizabeth II, Robbie, Chris and all the friends of White Swan III. God speed and calm seas!
I’ve watched with sadness as this story unfolded. Warm condolences to Mike’s family and the fishing community. My family knew Mike during the 70’s and 80’s during his charter fishing days. My father was in the charter business and I crewed for Mike once; triple ling cod catch on 1 pole! Fond memories of those days and admired Mike’s commitment and dedication to fishing. May he Rest In Peace.
We knew Mike in his younger days. Without a doubt, Mike Morgan was the best fisherman that ever lived. Period. Kind and unassuming to most, but actually highly competitive and tireless. Fishing the ocean. Tying all his own gear. Catching bait. During his time off…he fished the rivers. He had a keen and enviable instinct for fishing and navigating.
The sea loved Mike as much as he loved the sea. We will miss Mike. May you sail and fish the seas in eternal peace.
