Michael Caruso, 79, owner
and operator of Mike's Radiators in Port Richmond for 30 years, the beloved father and grandfather passed away after a battling a series of illnesses on December 18th, in Georgia.
Born in 1944 in Jersey City and raised in Bloomfield, Staten Island, Michael attended Port Richmond High School. He retired to Myrtle Beach, SC in the late 90s where he owned a pizzeria & then moved to Charlotte, NC. He recently bought a new home in Georgia to be closer to his daughter Michele and her family. He is survived by his two sons—Michael and his wife Gina, Mario and his wife Ainisa and his daughter Michele and her husband Blair Sweeney. He is survived by his 6 grandchildren, Brandon, Jordan, Jameson, Nicholas, Lily, and Teddy. He is also survived by his brother Patrick and sisters Teresa and AnnMarie. He is predeceased by his wife of over 45 years, Deborah, his son Jeremy, brother Frankie, and sister Marion.
Michael was a veteran of the US Marine Corps and was a former member of the Blizzard Wizards ski club, with whom
he skied in the French Alps. He was a football coach for a semi-pro team.
He enjoyed hunting, making wine, gardening & cooking. He loved cracking jokes & talking about sports too.
There will be a Church service in Georgia in January.
