Something that Michael cared about tremendously and deeply was food security. This was an extremely personal issue for him. I decided that a virtual food drive for the local food bank where we grew up would be a good way to comfort and nourish the living while honoring his memory. The food bank I selected is Hearts & Hands Food Pantry in Huntersville, NC (opened in 2017). They serve thousands of families in the Charlotte area. They are located steps away from Michael's home during his time at North Meck. I remember going to a similar, nearby (or same location) food bank with him to pick up food for his household when we were dating. I definitely remember going to this location to look for him once, at the direction of his mother. Contribute to Hearts and Hands Foundation
