Mike's obituary
Michael "Mike" Gutierrez was born on October 16, 1988 in Wheat Ridge, Colorado to parents Marshall and Pauline Gutierrez. He passed away too soon on July 4, 2023 in Westminster, Colorado. Mike was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend who touched the lives of many.
Growing up in North Denver, Colorado, affectionately known as the "Northside," Mike developed a deep love for his hometown and its sports teams. He was an ardent supporter of the Denver Broncos, Nuggets, Rockies, and Avalanche, always cheering them on with unwavering loyalty.
From a young age, Mike had a passion for sports and was an active participant on various teams. Through these experiences, he formed lifelong friendships and cherished memories. His love for sports extended beyond the field, as he enjoyed watching games and shouting from the stands. He also had a love for music spanning across various genres and he loved to "cut a rug" and share his best dance moves.
Mike was an exceptional outdoorsman who found solace and joy in nature. Many weekends were spent fishing on lakes or rivers. Whether it was ice fishing or fly fishing, he relished the challenge of catching the biggest fish of the day and gladly shared his knowledge with others, passing on the wisdom he had learned from his father, Marshall. Hunting was another pursuit that brought him immense pleasure.
One of Mike's most endearing qualities was his infectious smile and his ability to bring happiness to any situation. He possessed a genuine warmth and could strike up a conversation with anyone, making instant and lifelong friends along the way. Mike was a pillar of support for those around him, offering a shoulder to cry on, a comforting hug, or a helping hand whenever needed.
His loyal and dependable nature made him a cherished friend who could always be relied upon. Whether it was sharing a meal, engaging in deep conversations, or lifting something heavy, Mike was there with unwavering dedication. He cultivated friendships and gave generously of his time and energy to those in his life, leaving a lasting impact on everyone he encountered.
Mike's faithful dog, Trixie, was a constant presence by his side, providing him with unconditional love and friendship. Their adventures together brought him immeasurable joy, and Trixie was the dog he had always dreamed of—a true and loyal companion.
In addition to his passion for sports and the outdoors, Mike had a love for food. He spent many nights with friends trying to find the best wings in town, and didn't shy away from an eating challenge. His enthusiasm for life and his adventurous spirit were evident in every aspect of his being.
On July 4, 2023, we bid farewell to a remarkable individual who embraced life to its fullest. Mike Gutierrez will be deeply missed by his family, including his parents, Marshall and Pauline Gutierrez, his sister Michelle (Tim), nephews Jack, Sean, Ayrton "Artie", and Isaiah "Izzy", and sister Catherine (Zach), nephews Gabriel "Gabe", Kal, Bruce, and Jett. His absence will also be felt by his numerous friends, whose lives were touched by his infectious energy, unwavering support, and genuine friendship.
Though Mike may no longer be with us, his spirit will live on in the memories we hold dear. Let us remember him for his zest for life, his loving nature, and the incredible impact he had on those fortunate enough to know him. May he rest in eternal peace, forever fishing and cheering on his beloved sports teams.
