Mike's obituary
Michael (Mike) Dennis Gunter passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at his home in Castaic, California.
Mr. Gunter was born on December 24, 1950, in Baltimore, Maryland to Roy and Melva Gunter. He grew up in Monterey, California and graduated from Seaside High School in 1969. During high school, he was a member of the football team and the basketball team.
Mr. Gunter was a Viet Nam Veteran, having enlisted in the United States Marines upon graduation from high school. He was very proud of his service and most times would use the term “Once a Marine, always a Marine”, when speaking of it.
Mr. Gunter Was a lifelong Raider fan and had been since their inception in 1960. Being a Raider fan was highly ingrained into his self-identity, which is also a trait he passed on to his children.
Mr. Gunter was an animal lover, especially dogs. He had a disposition that dogs found to be very agreeable and could approach even the most aggressive of breads with nary an issue. His latter years were spent in the company of his beloved Shadow.
Mr. Gunter was known fondly for his “Wicked Sense of Humor” and would frequently open his conversations with a joke or comment that would make everyone laugh. He never went anywhere without making a new friend, and he was a favorite amongst his many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Gunter was preceded in death by his mother, father, and brother Joseph. He is survived by his sister Sandy Coe and her Husband George of Salinas, California, his Brother Robert Gunter and his wife Barbara of Lake City, Florida, His sister Mary Fiest and her husband Roger of Steubenville, Ohio, Son David LeValley and wife Melissa of Port Orchard, Washington, Daughter Shawna Galaviz and Husband Daniel of Pheonix, Arizona, son Michael Gunter and wife Jessica of White City, Oregon, Grandchildren Ariana LeValley, Derrick LeValley, Benjamin Bramucci, Daniel Galaviz Jr., Nathan Galaviz, Jorden Bure, Alyssia Gunter, Michael Gunter, and Lilly Gunter, and great grandchildren Benjamin Bramucci Jr., Kieran Bramucci, Elizabeth Bramucci, and Jude Galaviz He is also survived by his long-term partner, Denise Evans, and her grandsons Niko and Brandon.
