Mike's obituary

In loving memory of my Dad, Michael J. Grzegorczyk

7/21/1951 - 7/24/2023

Dad, Pops, Grandpa, GG, Mike, Michael or Mikey, a man who left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew him, was a true character. Whether you loved him or found yourself on the other side, there was no denying his presence. His zest for life was infectious, and it radiated from him like a beacon.

Many of us will forever remember the roar of his motorcycle engine, a sound that could be heard from a block away. It was a witness to his free spirit, a symbol of the way he lived life to the fullest, unapologetically. Just like a true lover of the open road, he embraced the wind on his skin and the thrill of the ride.

But Mike’s love extended beyond the roads he traveled. He had a passion for music, a soul who danced to his own rhythm and went against the grain. His eclectic taste and passion for melodies reflected his unique spirit. He taught me that life is a symphony, and we should savor every note, even if it’s out of tune at times.

Like A Rolling Stone, Mike rolled through life with charisma and charm, leaving an impression wherever he went. His magnetic personality drew people in, and his willingness to take chances inspired those around him.

A mega fan of idioms, one of his favorite’s “smoke dope and live in hope,’ was a testament to his belief in finding optimism even in the face of challenges. He taught me that sometimes, life’s difficulties can be overcome with a positive attitude and a sense of hope. “Don’t stress, daughter.” – Mike

Another one of his cherished idioms, ‘it’s colder than a well digger’s ass,” highlighted not just his intolerance to cold, but his sense of humor and his ability to find humor in the everyday. He had a way of making even the chilliest situations warmer with his wit.

Just like these idioms, Mike’s life was a tapestry of expressions and experiences that were uniquely his own. He embraced the quirks and contradictions of life, reminding us to find joy in the unexpected and to treasure the moments that made us smile.

Mike’s journey may have had its twists and turns, but through it all, he always lived life on his terms. He showed us that it’s okay to be a little rebellious and to follow our hearts, no matter where they lead.

He will be remembered with a mix of smiles and tears, grateful for the time we had with him and the valuable lessons he imparted. He may have ridden into the sunset, but his spirit continues to inspire us to live life with passion, courage, and an unwavering love for things that make our hearts sing.

Rest in peace old man, you will forever remain in our hearts, and your memory will continue to shape our lives, just a like a timeless melody.

Love you always. Your daughter, Amanda
