Michael's obituary

Michael Vincent Govreau 89, passed away peacefully on March 11,2019 at Florida Living Nursing Center in Apopka,Fl.
"Mike" was born to father Michael Henry Govreau and mother Ruth Alice Mickler Govreau on Nov. 30,1929 in the small town of San Antonio,Fl, where he grew up. He attended St. Anthony Catholic Church and School there for his primary schooling and worked picking citrus fruit and on a chicken farm to help pay for tuition at ST.LEO COLLEGE PREPARATORY SCHOOL where he graduated in 1948.
In his free time Mike loved to hunt and fish, a passion which carried on most of his life .
During the Korean War , Mike served in the Navy from 1949-1953 on several aircraft carriers including the USS MIDWAY ,USS Franklin D. Roosevelt CV-42 and USS Theodore Roosevelt CVN-71 as an AMS2 rank.
Soon after, Mike met and married his beloved bride of 52 yrs., Emma More of Dade City,Fl
Mike had a career in S. Florida as a flooring mechanic for 20+ yrs., then Emma and he started new careers in
property management and real estate in Central & North Florida before retiring near Orlando,Fl.
Michael is survived by his son Rick Govreau,step-son Jon Stanley and many loving grandchildren,nieces,nephews and extended family. Mike was a loving father,husband,grandfather, and friend to many.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents Michael H. & Ruth Govreau ,siblings Leo,Michael Yulee,Rosemary,Norma,Ruth Hicks, Sylvia Gude, wife Emma More Govreau and step-son Gary E. Stanley.
Services to be held Fri. April 12,2019 at 2:30pm at Florida National Cemetery,6502 S.W. 102nd Ave., Bushnell,Fl. 33513 . A Life Celebration Gathering following at 35621 Clinton Ave. Dade City,Fl. home of Barbara & Allen Blount.
