Mr. Michael DeBolt of Red Oak, Texas formerly of Lewisville, age 73, passed away on March 20, 2019.
Michael was born in Iowa City, IA to Dr. Merlan DeBolt and Idola Hubbard.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Marti Olden. He is survived by his son, Devon DeBolt of Seattle, Washington, daughter Jina Fowler, husband Curtis and grandsons Hogan and Ian, of Trophy Club, Texas, his sisters Mary DeBolt Davis of Lewisville, TX and Laura Kooris of Austin, TX.

Michael began his 42-year long career as an educator in 1968 after graduating from North Texas State University in Denton, Texas with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Masters in Educational Administration. He began his career in 1968 with Lewisville Independent School District in Lewisville, TX. He began teaching science at Lewisville High School where after several years he became and assistant principal at the school. In 1976, he became the principal at Degan Elementary School where he remained until 1993. In the fall of 93' he became the principal of Heritage Elementary in Highland Village, TX. He eventually became an administrator at the Dale Jackson Career Center and retired in 2000. In 2002, he decided he missed education so much he had to go back. Keller ISD hired him at the Keller Learning Center/New Directions as teacher. In 2012, he finally retired to live his dream on his land as a turkey and chicken farmer in Red Oak, TX. He spent his retirement fishing and taking care of his animals.

Michael will be missed by many to include the many students and educators he influenced over the years. Over the last year his health quickly declined due to a 40-year struggle with heart disease.

Services for Mr. Michael DeBolt will be held at The Mount Church in the Student Building, 860 Keller Smithfield Rd, Keller, TX 76248 on May 11, 2010, at 1:00 pm with Chaplain Roger Benimoff, retired US Army, officiating. A reception at the church will follow the ceremony.
