Michael's obituary

Michael William Craddock was born December 7, 1967 in Michigan to Bridgette Renaud. At a young age he moved to Florida and began making friends and learning trades. By the age of 16 Michael was hanging drywall full time and making a name for himself. He made friends everywhere he went and excelled at each job he took. His name is known in almost all 50 states and associated with honest quality work. On his résumé would be listed things like specialty work trimming the largest trees in Florida, building custom log homes, the tree of life at Disney, hotels on most exits on I-75, parking garages for the Olympics in Atlanta, the largest mall in St. Louis, Lions stadium in Michigan, several hospitals, and a weed eating job that lead to life long friendships. All of that before being diagnosed with cardiomyopathy and 20 percent heart function at 32. When the doctors told him he had to slow down he turned to hobbies where he built log bed frames just to see if he could. He built knives, fishing poles, and cabins. He trained horses and hand picked Oz who went on to win the world show. He decided to train cow dogs and then trained trainers. He decided to try team roping and once again like everything else in his life excelled at each hobby. Of all his life experiences he was most proud of the two boys that he helped become men. Mike didn’t brag about his work or hobbies but would talk about his boys Cody and Hunter at any opportunity. He took his job as being a father as the most important gift he could have been given. In the fall of 2020 Mike became ill and discovered that his heart had finally worn out. With a heart that was functioning at a level that wouldn’t even register he fought to survive. With only hours left a donor heart was found and on March 29, 2021 Mike was given new life. With a new heart and a new outlook on life he decided to live every moment to the fullest. He made new memories with old friends and made lasting impressions on new friends. He found true love and with it true happiness. In November he developed a cough that was diagnosed as cancer in December. On January 25, 2022 Michael passed away in his home surrounded by love. He was proceeded in death by his beloved grandmother Anna Winnen and his father figure Melvin Persenaire. He’s survived by his fiancé Christina and children, his sons Cody Craddock and Hunter Craddock, his mother Bridgette Renaud and Glen, his stepmother Jackie McFadden and Carl, his brothers Jimmy, Chad and Felicia, and Wesley and Rae Ann Craddock, sister Deanne Renaud and Richard, niece Courtney Igo and Russell and children, nephews Tucker Slattery and Jaxson Craddock, and adopted families of Paul Atkinson and Dan Ewald. Because of the man he was there are too many friends to mention but he valued each of them. From Texas to Montana, Arizona to Florida, and all the area in between you can find trails he blazed and hearts he touched. He will be missed but never forgotten.
