Michael's obituary
On Monday, January 4, 2021, Michael Coyle, beloved son, brother, partner, father and friend, passed away suddenly at the age of 54 at his home in Ridgewood, Queens, New York.
Born at Rahway Hospital, Rahway, New Jersey on July 12, 1966, Michael relocated at the age of two from Jersey City to Fords (Woodbridge Twp.), where he attended Lafayette Estates School #25, Fords Junior High, and Woodbridge High School. He loved sports as both a spectator and participant, was a diehard Mets fan, and played baseball with Fords Little League. Michael easily made friends in Fords and throughout the years.
Michael leaves behind in loving memory his life partner, Adriana Miller, son Joseph, and Adriana’s daughter, Ann Christina Miller, brother James Norton (Gail) of Galloway, New Jersey, brother Gary Coyle of Hamburg, New Jersey, sister Donna Coyle Semione (John) of Ladera Ranch, California, sister Nancy Coyle of Gig Harbor, Washington, brother Mark Coyle of Port Charlotte, Florida, sister Gayle Coyle Marchetti of Point Pleasant, New Jersey, and sister Kerri Coyle Stahl (Jimmy) of Lawrenceville, New Jersey. He was a favorite and adored uncle to many nieces and nephews: Jimmy, Tracy, Olivia, Rory, John (Juliana), Michael (Kelly), Nicholas (Kimmie), Lucas, Dashiell, Justin (Wiley), Shaina, Marina, and Ryan.
Michael is reunited in Heaven with his parents, Joseph B. Coyle, Sr. and Marie Costanza Coyle, and big brother, Joseph B. Coyle, Jr.
Shortly after high school, Michael joined the Navy, was stationed in San Diego, California, and was honorably discharged. Michael was a proud member of NYC Ironworkers Local 40 and honored his kinship with his union brothers and sisters. He was a keen observer of life and human nature, an avid reader, a lover of music, and was always laughing and joking. He was a history buff, especially WWII, with a font of facts and knowledge at the ready. He made us laugh like no one else and he gave the best hugs. Michael had an unwavering Catholic faith and was a communicant of St. Matthias Roman Catholic Church in Ridgewood.
Michael had a strong presence, not only physically but also as evidenced in his larger than life personality. He had a heart of gold and would drop anything if you needed him. He loved fiercely, doting on his son Joseph and loving longtime partner, Adriana. He was a cherished and compassionate brother, and his presence has left a tremendous void in our lives.
A celebration of Michael’s life will be scheduled at a later date when it is safe to gather in large groups.
