Michael's obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Michael (Mike) Matthew Chirico on April 18, 2023, at the age of 60. He was always in exemplary health, so the sudden cardiac arrest from ventricular tachycardia was unexpected. He was a cherished son, husband, father, brother, friend, and devoted cat dad.
Mike was born on January 12, 1963, in San Diego, CA, to Shirley (Burdick) Chirico and Mathew Chirico. He grew up with his sister Susan (Chirico) Landis, and they shared many cherished memories together.
Mike was an accomplished professional, having received a BA in Computer Science and Mathematics from Rutgers University - Camden and an MS in Computer Science from Villanova University. He was the CEO of his consulting firm, CWXSTAT, which specialized in GO, Kubernetes, AWS, GCP, and Machine Learning. He was well-respected in his field and made significant contributions to the tech industry.
Mike met the love of his life, Lisa, and they were married for 24 years. Together they had three daughters, Abby, Leah, and Zoë, and Mike became a loving stepfather to Jillian. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially his annual Thanksgiving Eve hiking/camping trip with his high school buddies.
Mike was a kind and compassionate soul who touched the lives of many with his generosity, humor, and positive outlook on life. His sudden passing has left a profound void in the hearts of those who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and colleagues. His legacy will live on through his work, his family, and the memories he created with those he loved. Rest in peace, Mike.
A private service will be held at his home in Elkins Park, PA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Mike's memory to CODE.ORG (donate.code.org)
